Founded in 1995, The Brevard Alzheimer’s Foundation, Inc. is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. Donations and services stay in Brevard County, serve local residents and are fully tax-deductible. With an annual operating budget of $2.5 million dollars and 65 employees, the Brevard Alzheimer’s Foundation helps many families through care planning, caregiver education and support groups in addition to providing Adult Day Care Health Care, In-home Respite, and Transportation.
- 1995 – Brevard Alzheimer’s Foundation, Inc., established on US Highway 1
- 1995 – Received a grant from Robert Wood Johnson Foundation “Faith-in-Action” Program
- 1997 – Brevard Alzheimer’s Foundation awarded Project R.E.L.I.E.F.
- 1997 – Brevard Alzheimer’s Foundation accepted AMERICore ElderServe for Brevard County
- 1997 – Melbourne Adult Day Health Care Center Facility opened (Wickham Road)
- 2001 – Micco Adult Day Health Care Center Facility opened with funds provided by the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Foundation
- 2006 – Titusville Adult Day Health Care Center Facility opened
- 2008 – Diversion (YourCareBrevard) program, established
- 2010 – BAFI awarded first vehicle from Florida Department of Transportation
- 2011 – Joe’s Club Transportation wins Best Alzheimer’s Transportation Award in U.S. by Beverly Foundation
- 2012 – 20th Anniversary of the ALZBBQ & Car Drawing (held each year in May)
- 2013 – Long Term Managed Care Program (LTMC) established (Partner with Coventry Health Care to provide case management, day care and transportation)
- 2013 – Joe’s Club wins Most Innovative Day Care in U.S. by National Adult Day Care Services Association
- 2014 – Inaugural Cycle 4 Alzheimer’s held in November
- 2015 – Joe’s Club participates in Florida Tech/Lighting Science Lighting Project to study circadian rhythm and Alzheimer’s
- 2016 – 20th Anniversary of the Louise Jones Golf Classic
- 2017 – 25th Anniversary ALZBBQ and Car Drawing
- 2018 – Joe’s Club Named Best in Brevard by Hometown News
- 2018 – Joe’s Club awarded exclusive contract in Brevard County for Adult Day Care from Department of Veterans Affairs.
- 2019 – BAFI awarded Brevard County Community Block Grant
- 2019 – Started Case Management Study with John Hopkins University and University of Minnesota (all three daycares)
- 2019 – Joes@Home In-Home After Hours Care program starts
- 2019 – JoesGives Medical Equipment Lending Program starts in all three centers
